They can be any color, and each is magically tuned to its wielder so that they are not harmed when touching the sword. A blade can be tuned to a new wielder, if they spend 1 hour within 1 foot of the weapon, concentrating on it and nothing else. The weapon’s 3-foot-long laser blade emits light in a 30-foot radius.
