When you activate your Defense Position special ability, you may also apply its effects to a friendly character in an adjacent space. The effects last for the other character until the end of the combat round. The ally you apply this affect to is not restricted in the actions they can take, but they lose the benefits of this ability if they are no longer in an adjacent space.
