In Olaxis exploited, ignored, and oppressed peoples are never more than a system or two away. These groups are full of anger and potential, waiting for a maverick to come along and form them into a group of rebels. You could be that leader, the one who turns the galaxy upside down and makes it change for the better. This Story Path is for players who want to explore the morally fraught path to social change.

1st Event: Find a Cause

Completion: You complete this event when you find a group of people you want to stir to action and have a specific goal you want that group to accomplish. Should these people overthrow a dictator? Should they seek higher wages or better working conditions? The cause and goal you take up defines the rest of this Story Path.

Reward: Select one special ability from your species.

2nd Event: Rally People

Completion: You complete this event when you win over a group of people who are willing to help you with your rebellion. How you get word to them and convince them to join your cause are up to you.

Reward: Increase the die size of one of your Social skills by 1.

3rd Event: Organize

Completion: You have some people on your side. Now it’s time to mobilize them. You complete this event when you have a physical or digital space to meet with your rebels, and each has a job to do. Who is recruiting more members to the cause? Who is spying on those in power? Who is making sure your operation stays as secret as necessary?

Reward: Increase the die size of your Decorum, Presence, or Streetwise skill by 1.

4th Event: Plan the Stand

Completion: You complete this event after you plan an undertaking for your group. This could be a rally, a worker’s strike, a battle, or some other operation with many logistics.

Reward: Increase the die size of one of your Mental skills by 1.

5th Event: Take a Stand

Completion: Did your event accomplish your goal? Was the rebellion successful, or is there still work to be done to achieve your goal? You complete this event after your rebels execute the undertaking you planned.

Reward if the rebellion is successful: Gain the Champion of the Downtrodden special ability. When you are in an area with people who are exploited, marginalized, or oppressed, you can recruit an NPC ally from among those people. You control this ally in combat, and they are a hacker, rogue, scientist, standard soldier, or tough. You can only have one NPC ally at a time with this ability. If you complete this Story Path a second or greater time and you incite a successful rebellion again, select one special ability from your species.

Reward if the rebellion is not successful: Select one special ability from your species.
