At the very top, you can see your character's name and three options: Character Sheet, Bio & Info, and Advanced Tools.

  • Character Sheet is where you'll spend most of your time, no matter what type of sheet you're using.
  • Bio & Info is a place to add that lengthy backstory or for your GM to add their own secret notes to your character. You can edit this part of the sheet by clicking on the pencil icon on the token or the person/gear icon in the top right of the window. It will open the sheet edit screen where you can change your name, token, avatar, sharing permissions, tags, and the bio and info sections.
  • Advanced Tools is where you can create character-specific macros or Token Actions for your characters. You can learn more about these at the Help Center.

On the far left, you can see a pink button that says "Display to Group". This will open the character sheet in everyone's game, allowing you to share what you're seeing with everyone else. It will prompt you to grant permissions for everyone to be able to share it.

When you're using your character sheet, you may not want to have it open all the time, but you also may not want to have it open over your map/VTT space. There are a few solutions to this problem:

  • You can just close it with the X icon and reopen it from the journal as needed.
  • If you have monitor space (or a multi-monitor setup), you can "pop out" the character sheet using the box/arrow icon next to the X. The sheet will then be in its own window, but be warned- you cannot drag and drop to a popped-out sheet.
  • Finally, if you want it minimized on the VTT, you can use the minimize button or simply double-click on the white-space of the header. This trick can be used with any of the handouts and sheets on Roll20.
